The Philadelphia Christmas Village is where you need to go with your friends and family this holiday season!
The Christmas Village will be open from November 24 through December 24 in Center City from 11am to 7pm daily. The village consists of German style, open air markets and vendors who sell holiday related gifts, decorations, jewelry, foods, drinks, and much more. Admission is free, but you will have to pay for the items you purchase, food, and the activities in the village.
The Christmas Village, which is spread across Dillworth Plaza outside of City Hall and into nearby Love Park, is simple to get to from St. Joe’s. A quick 15 minute car ride will get you to the village. You can book an affordable parking spot at the Christmas Village through the Philadelphia SpotHero Parking Page. It would be smart to do this ahead of time. If you do not have access to a car, it is possible to travel by foot or public transportation. Some options for public transportation is the Septa bus or the train.
Festive Christmas lights are all over the village and there are many fun and exciting activities you can do with your family and friends. They have a carousel, ferris wheel, Phil the Reindeer who you can meet and take pictures with. They also offer food tastings and for guests over 21, there are beer and wine tastings.
We interviewed a few of the vendors at the Christmas Village, to learn a bit more about what they were selling. There are plenty of unique things like custom color and shape lights, chopstick bowls, and handcrafted crafts from Morocco. These small businesses are perfect places to buy small trinket gifts for your friends and family!
There is so much offered at the Philadelphia Christmas Village for people of all ages and genders. Plan to go with friends and family as soon as you can to make your holiday season a little more merry and cheerful. Merry Christmas!
