For the last four years, The Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest has been one of Philadelphia’s most popular attractions during the winter months. From November 25 until March 5, Penn’s Landing (located in Center City Philadelphia, on the Delaware River), is transformed into a winter wonderland with lights, music, and much more.

The Winterfest includes Philly’s largest outdoor ice skating rink, The Lodge Restaurant and Bar (which includes a porch lined with heat lamps, rocking chairs and blankets on the outside and fireplaces and communal tables on the inside), A Kids Lodge and Arcade, and private Cabin Rentals for a more intimate and family-oriented experience.

With only a few weeks left in the winter, its strongly encouraged that everyone experiences this festival before winter is over. This festival is especially great for college students in the Philadelphia area, considering it is easily accessible, open seven days a week and admission into the Winterfest is completely free. “I have been to the Winterfest a few years, actually, and it is always so much fun. I have been with my friends, and with my family, and I strongly encourage anyone that lives or goes to school in Philly to experience such a cool even in their city at least once,” says Saint Joseph’s freshman, Shana Hildreth. All college students are looking for new ways to explore the city, and want to do it at a low price, and the Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest makes it easy.
