Mural Arts Philadelphia is an organization that enables artists to use their talents and create beautiful pieces all over the city. It started in 1984 as a way to cover up graffiti. Now, there are over 3,600 murals in Philadelphia. Walking or trolley tours are offered, or simply use the map and find them on your own.

Many of the murals closest to campus are part of the “A Love Letter for You” series by Stephen Powers.

October is Mural Arts Month. There will be many events coming up including exhibitions of new murals, panels, and a block party.

“At its core, our work at Mural Arts is about people helping people,” according to the organization. “During Mural Arts Month 2018, we continue the journey, never forgetting who we are and where we’ve been.”
