Do you always have a constant craving for something sweet but don’t want to take a trip to Campion Dining Hall? Saint Joseph’s University has a few places nearby where students with a sweet tooth can satisfy their cravings. Below are highly recommended places students tend to visit whether it be a reward for getting through finals or trying a new place near campus.
Crumbl Cookie
Cookie company Crumbl Cookie is one of the fastest-growing in the nation with 200 bakeries in 32 states. The closest location to the school can be found in the Wynnewood Shopping Center about 10 minutes from campus. This place offers a variety of cookies that change flavors weekly. For example, this week they offer Pink Velvet and Brownie Fudge! They also offer about six ice cream flavors. Crumbl cookie is the perfect option if you are craving a warm delicious cookie!
Insomnia
Similar to Crumbl Cookie, Insomnia offers a variety of cookie flavors. Unlike Crumbl, they, unfortunately, do not change weekly but they do offer their cookies to be warmed. Their location is right on campus across from Lannon Hall (formerly Borgia Hall) making it easily accessible. In addition to being on campus, their hours are also a perk. They are open from 11 a.m.to 1 a.m. on the weekends. On your way back to campus from a night out stop at Insomnia and grab a cookie!
Yapple Yogurt
Yapple Yogurt is a family-owned self-serve frozen yogurt shop that can also be found in the Wynnewood Shopping Center. Yapple Yogurt offers a variety of frozen yogurt flavors such as Vanilla, Chocolate, Cake Batter, etc. Along with flavors they also offer toppings like chocolate chips, cookie dough, sprinkles, etc. With summer just around the corner, this is just what you need, a nice cold treat on a hot day!
Chloe’s Corner
Although this sweet treat is off-campus, located on Main street in Manayunk, they do deliver. And upper-class students who live in Manayunk are well-acquainted with Chloe’s Corner food. Chloe’s Corner is known for its ice creams, such as hand-dipped, soft serve, and Italian ices which are just a few of the desserts on their menu. Apart from ice cream, you will also find food salads, wraps, cheesesteaks, burgers, five varieties of fries, and more. This place is a hotspot for appetizers and desserts.
Now that summer is fast approaching, checking these places out would be a great way to explore on and off-campus. Grab a roomie and make it an adventure!
