Rushik Jupudi is a Junior food marketing major at Saint Joseph’s University. He’s from Chester Springs, Pennsylvania and a graduate from Downingtown East High School.

What Rushik likes most about the school is the campus environment, the small campus and class sizes. When it comes to the smaller class sizes he believes that it helps him learn better because he is able to have a better connection with Professors and his peers. The friends he made at St. Joseph’s through the years and the culture of the school had a strong impact on him. It all made him want to stay. His favorite memory is going to the basketball games and the excitement from the atmosphere and energy of the crowd.

Before Saint Joseph’s became his final choice, Rushik had a different school in mind. He applied to all the Philadelphia schools and before he was able to tour the schools his main interest was in Drexel University. Once he visited Saint Joseph’s he was drawn to it, as it had the best campus.

Originally, Rushik was a marketing major, but once he learned about the food marketing major, he changed his direction. He changed majors due to his love and passion for food and his desire to learn about the industry and pursue it drove his decision. His favorite classes he’s taken so far would be classes focused on his major; for example, the consumer and behavior class was of high interest for him.

Rushik’s advice to current and incoming freshmen is, “Don’t procrastinate, make sure to turn assignments in on time and to use the resources that are given to you. As well as participate in clubs or sports to keep yourself occupied and be able to make new friends.”
