We are less than two months away from the end of the decade.  These last 10 years have been great for technology. It seems like every single person had some sort of apple product, and more specifically an iPhone.  Ever since the first one came out in 2007, iPhones have dominated the market.

On June 7, 2010, Apple announced the release of the iPhone 4, and it was a game changer.  The design was completely different, and the back of the phone was made out of aluminosilicate glass for the first time.  In 2011, the iPhone 4s was released, and it was the first Apple device to feature Siri.  Siri changed the way that we used our phone, and it made different tasks a lot easier.

The iPhone 5 was released in 2012, and was followed by the 5s in 2013.  These phones had a different design than the 4s, and the back was no longer made of glass.  The 5s was the first iPhone to include the thumb print passcode.

The iPhone 6, 6s, and 7 all came out between 2014 and 2016.  These phones are all pretty similar. None of the features changed too drastically, and they have similar designs.  These three phones all came with a plus option that was a lot bigger. The iPhone 7 was the first one to have no headphone jack.  With this change, Air Pods were also released. Instead of having headphones with a chord, most people have these wireless headphones that need to be charged.  In 2015, Apple Music came out. This was a major upgrade from iTunes, and it made music more accessible than ever.

Just like the three previous models, the iPhone 8 came with a plus version.  It also went back to using aluminosilicate glass for the back. In 2017, the iPhone X was released.  It was bigger than the previous model, and came with a much better camera. This phone also had no home button and was completely touchscreen.  It was also the first phone to come with the facial recognition passcode. In 2019, we saw the release of the last iPhone of the decade, the 11.  It has multiple cameras on it, and has a lot of cool new features. It is miles ahead of the first iPhone we saw this decade.

It has been very interesting to watch how much iPhones have evolved in the past decade.  Their new innovations change the way that we use our phones. Apple has made so much progress with this technology and it is very exciting to think about what the next decade will bring.  What kind of technology will we have by the time 2030 rolls around?
