Marco’s love for claymation keeps him connected to the movies he watched as a child. One of these, his favorite Halloween movie, is Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. “I love this movie because ever since I was a young kid, I found this style of animation really interesting.”
The days of trick or treating are over for us college students, but there are always some Halloween movies that people love to go back and watch from their childhoods. As we get older, Halloween might not feel like it did when we were young kids, but these movies can bring back memories and feeling of child-like joy. We asked some other students why they enjoy going back and watching these movies.
Megan’s favorite of these movies is Halloweentown. She enjoys watching this movie as a young adult because it reminds her of when she used to watch it with her family before they went trick or treating.
Next, Emely recounted why Matilda is her favorite Halloween movie from childhood. “Me and my cousins used to watch it while we ate our Halloween candy.
Tyler has a strong connection to Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie. As a child, he was nicknamed, “Tigger,” so he has always connected to the Winnie the Pooh characters. He also bonded over the film with his two younger brothers, so he still watches it today because it reaffirms the strong connection to his family.
Lastly, Natalie enjoys watching Hocus Pocus to this day because she remembers it always being on TV around this time when she was a child, so she would always watch it.
