Being single is hard anytime of the year, but on Valentine’s Day it can be brutal. If you’re an emotional eater, and even worse – an emotional binge watcher – we got you covered.
- 10 Things I Hate About You
If you’re newly single, I’m sure there’s a few things you can name about your ex that you hate. Why not make it 10? This movie is not only funny but it’s a feel good that’ll leave you feeling hopeful for new beginnings.
Food to Match:
Mac and Cheese! Mac and cheese is such a feel-good type of food, obviously, because cheese makes everyone happier! Grab your favorite type of Kraft or Velveeta and get to it!
- (500) Days of Summer
If you’re really feeling down this Valentine’s Day, there’s no better way to feel better about your own love life than watching someone else’s suffer. This movie is an emotional rollercoaster, but definitely one to watch.
Food to Match:
Ice cream is a must for this movie. Pick up your favorite tub of Ben and Jerry’s from Bill’s Market on 63rd street and get an inspirational speech from Kimmy on your way out.
- Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Another good one to watch if you’re newly single. A movie about relationships ending and new ones beginning, it’s a hilarious movie that is a great pick me up.
Food to Match:
Pizza! Definitely head over to Overbrook Pizza or order Dominos and don’t feel guilty about finishing the whole small pie to yourself.
- Stuck in Love
The one movie that covers every type of relationship there is. It’s the type of movie you’ll become emotionally invested in and make you have all of the ~feels~. Easily will become your favorite or go-to movie!
Food to Match:
Chocolates are your best friend for this movie. Any flavor would work; dark, semi-sweet, or milk chocolate. You might as well get all three for all the different types of emotions you’ll feel watching the movie. Hit up the pod in Campion before starting the movie.
- Zootopia
Honestly, hear me out. This movie will have you laughing, crying and wishing that animals actually ran the world. Its optimistic and hilarious and has just enough dirty jokes to make you forget it’s a kids’ movie.
Food to Match:
Grilled cheese, it’s the perfect meal to make you feel like a kid again. Plus, lets be real, nobody ever grows out of grilled cheeses, like ever. You can also get the perfect grilled cheese at DB!
