Wall at Magic Gardens

Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens opened to the public in 2008, and visitors now have the opportunity to participate in tours and experience a hands-on approach to original art. The exhibit attracts thousands of visitors every year, but it wasn’t until 2010 that the Magic Gardens received a special incentive to attract millennial visitors: the launch of Instagram.

The Magic Gardens, created by mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar, is located on South Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The gallery hosts artists from all over the world and exhibits artwork that has ties to the organization’s mission of inspiring creativity and community engagement. However, if you stop and ask the average person why they came to visit the Magic Gardens, their answer may surprise you.

“My friends and I saw our other friends came here a couple weeks ago and posted really cool pictures on Instagram so this weekend we thought why not go check it out..pics or it didn’t happen!”
