As we enter December, the holiday season inches closer and closer. For many students, this time of year can be thrilling; as classes are coming to a close, winter break is just around the corner, and the thought of gathering with loved ones becomes more and more of a reality every day. However, this time of excitement does not come without stress. Finding convenient and accessible places to shop for gifts for special people in students’ lives can be very difficult. Many students struggle with providing family and friends with specific presents without breaking the bank. Luckily, Hawk Hill is at the center of incredible opportunities for stocking up on holiday gifts. We compiled a list of some of our favorite affordable and accessible places to go.

Suburban Square

Suburban Square, located just a short drive away in Ardmore, is a popular place for students to grab some groceries or a bite to eat. However, there is so much more to this shopping center beyond Trader Joe’s or Starbucks. While this area is home to some high-end retail shops, there are still many great options for college students. To start, Urban Outfitters has a unique assortment of holiday gifts, many of which are very inexpensive. Furthermore, the Gap store is sure to provide a wide variety of options without costing a fortune. These are only a fraction of the many.

Saint Joseph’s University Bookstore

Don’t have a car? No problem! The bookstore on campus has a plethora of great options for students’ relatives, and it is within walking distance from every residence hall and academic building. From clothing to mugs to flags, this location provides the perfect options for gifts that allow your family to show their Saint Joseph’s spirit. The bookstore is also a convenient option for lower-classmen, with it being hard to access stores that are further off-campus.

Target

Target is a massive superstore, containing a large variety of every gift option a student could ever imagine. Even better, the Target store, located east of campus down City Avenue, is just a short shuttle ride away, proving to be another option for students without cars. While students can find almost anything they’re looking for here, some options are more budget-friendly. Upon walking through the front doors of the building, customers are welcome by the dollar section. Here, all merchandise is only a few dollars and is full of fun things for all holidays.

Amazon

As many students already know, Amazon is truly one of the easiest ways to shop. This online retail giant has perfected the art of quick delivery and a wide assortment. It is no surprise that Amazon is one of the best places to shop for holiday gifts. However, for students who struggle with deciding what to get friends and family, Amazon has a holiday gift guide, which compiles categories of products, thus easing the process of searching for gifts. And as a bonus, shopping this way allows students to stay in the comfort of their warm rooms.

As the holidays near and last-minute shopping arises, consider some of our campus accessible shopping options to find that extra special gift for each of your loved ones!
