Fifteen minutes can sometimes feel like forever, but when it comes to walking from Merion to Bellarmine, time flies! Four classes in a row (even just 2) can feel like a drag and can leave students feeling hangry. Without enough time to stop at Starbucks, Campion, or the POD, we may have to pack our own snacks for those moments between classes. Our jacket pockets or backpacks are the perfect place to store small healthy snacks. Here are 5 snacks that are small, tasty, and easy to munch on between classes.
1. Kind Bars
These nutrition bars are the perfect size and shape for your jacket pocket and they taste amazing. The company’s all-natural ingredients and philosophy makes your feel good about the food you are putting into your body. Their trademarked slogan, “do the kind thing for your body, your taste buds & your world,” may even inspire you to flash a smile or hold a door for someone on your walk through the library.
2. Almonds
Almonds are tasty and are proven to lower the risk of many diseases, including Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease. Eating almonds will for sure reduce hunger. About 19 almonds will be 100-calorie serving. Definitely a pocket-sized snack!
3. Apple
You know the old saying, “An apple a day keeps the hanger away!” (No? Me either.)
4. Justin’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
Perfect for that mid day pick-me-up, these organic peanut butter cups could satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth. 2 cups are just 130 calories! Yum.
5. Babybel Light Cheese
This one is for all the cheese lovers out there (I know I’m not the only one). Babybel mini cheeses are the perfect snack for between classes. Smaller than the palm of your hand, they will fit into any pocket and will definitely fill you up.
Happy munching, Hawks!
