Thanksgiving break is right around the corner, and right after that comes Christmas break. I certainly want to keep up good habits and feel like life is semi-normal still during this pandemic, so I am going to share some things to do to keep yourself occupied during the long break coming up.

1. Focus on your health and wellness

It is easy to sit around all day during these times, so getting outside and exercising everyday can help boost your morale. You can really take it upon yourself to become the best version of who you are. Focusing on a combination of eating well and exercising can be stepping stones to getting there.

2. Deep clean and reorganization

This pandemic gives us more free time then we usually would have. So, if you have not already, I suggest really gutting out your room and all your belongings. I have definitely procrastinated doing this until the pandemic hit and it kept me busy for a few days, and it ended up being pretty fun.

3. Spend quality time with your family

Most of us have not seen our families since before the semester started. Really take the time to be with them again and play some fun games or watch some good movies with them. I got extra close with my family during quarantine and I am honestly excited to go home and be with them again.

4. Go out to a covid friendly restaurant

Get out some nights with your family or close friends to a nice restaurant. Of course wear your mask, but try to enjoy some fun nights out. This is one of the things I am most excited to do with my family because I never get to go out to nice restaurants during the semester.

5. Find a new hobby

It is important to take this time and find out what we truly enjoy and love about ourselves. During the pandemic before fall semester started I found out that I really enjoyed painting (and I wasn’t too bad at it either). I would have never known this if it was not for the pandemic.

I feel like in the midst of all that is going on it is important to focus on the positive things in life still. We can get drained easily from just doing nothing, so I hope at least one of these things inspires you to try something new over the break that is approaching us.
