Fairfax, USA - November 25, 2016: Trader Joes grocery store facade with sign and items on display and people walking

If you’re a college student who is looking to cut down your food shopping bill, then Trader Joes is the right place for you!  The Trader Joe’s located in Ardmore, PA has an excellent selection of food and prices for everyone! According to Trader Joe’s themselves, “We keep our costs low because every penny we save, is a penny you save”. Unlike many other food stores, such as Acme or Giant, Trader Joe’s focuses on their private label (products with “Trader Joe’s” name on them). This simplifies a lot of things such as costs and marketing fees while increasing the overall quality of the products they sell. College students everywhere are enticed not only by the low prices but also their portion sizes. When asked about their experience with Trader Joe’s, a recent college graduate stated, “I used to always buy my groceries from Trader Joe’s back when I was in school. Not only is their quality amazing, but their portion sizes made it so easy for me to shop as a single person. Their frozen meals are better than anything you can buy at a standard food store and are so cheap!” By focusing on the quality of their food rather than the quantity of products available, Trader Joe’s has developed a very loyal customer base.

Items that you NEED to try from Trader Joe’s:

Trader Joe’s offers a wide range of unique products aimed to please every palate and diet. Whether you’re a new shopper or a seasoned pro, here are some must-try items to pick up the next time you go.

Frozen Chocolate Covered Banana Bites ($2.29): These delicious treats are a healthier alternative to any chocolate dessert and they sure are delicious! They are perfectly bite sized so you can just pop them out of the freezer and get to snacking— no scooping required! (They also have frozen chocolate covered strawberries too!)

Vegan Kale Cashew & Basil Pesto ($3.79): Pesto without cheese?! That’s right, and you can’t even tell the difference between this and any other classic pesto recipe. This sauce is absolutely amazing on pasta, veggies, or sandwiches, and it’s an especially delicious way to get an extra serving of greens into your day.

Popcorn ($1.99): TJ’s has a wide variety of different popcorn at their locations. Some popular flavors include Movie Theater, Herbs and Spices, Caramel, and White Cheddar. One of my all time favorite flavors is the Dill Pickle popcorn, but sadly, they discontinued the flavor in their stores. Let’s start a petition to get it back!

Everything but the Bagel Seasoning ($1.99): This seasoning is a must have staple at Trader Joe’s. Picture a delicious everything bagel with cream cheese, but forget about the bagel or the cream cheese! You can put this on virtually anything you desire: eggs, popcorn, hummus, even avocado toast!
