Hi, future residents of Lannon 413…
Welcome to my apartment. Nope, it’s not your’s. I may not be living in there right now, but it’s still mine. No matter how many years go by, this apartment will always belong to me.
There are some things you should know about this apartment before you get settled in. If I told you e v e r y t h i n g that happened here this past school year, you’d probably want to move out in a second. But I’m going to tell you the most important things to keep in mind.
For some reason, there were only three barstools in our apartment, while everyone else has four. And one of them is wobbly. Remember that before you have a large group of people over and decide to stand on it while belting the lyrics to Mr. Brightside.
The lighting in Lannon is awful. It’s a fact that is unfortunate and cannot be changed no matter how many lamps you put around the apartment. If you’re looking to take an insta-worthy photo, this is not the place to do it. The best lighting you’re going to get is the hallway to the bathroom all the way in the back, against the wall. But you gotta turn all the lights off and use the flash on your phone. Desperate times call for desperate measures ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also, the sliding drawers in the fridge don’t have a top. Not really sure if it’s a design flaw, or someone stole them, or they’re just missing for some reason. But whatever the reason is, just remember that they’re gone. Or else you’ll end up putting your leftovers on what you think is a shelf, and tomorrow night’s dinner will be spilled all over the bottom of the drawer.
Lastly, keep in mind that the walls are paper thin. We were blessed with neighbors that blast music from 8am to 1am (not to mention they literally had a surround sound system around the perimeter of their room). By the end of the year, we were so accustomed to their crappy music, that we couldn’t even tell when they were playing it. But seriously, don’t be them. Please.
The memories that were made in Lannon 413 are some that I may regret, but never forget. I hope you have fun this upcoming year in MY apartment!
